Zen-touch/ shiatsu: ZenTouch™ is an innovative approach to traditional Shiatsu/Acupressure and Oriental bodywork developed by Seymour Koblin. It is performed on a mat wearing loose and comfortable clothing, this healing therapy creates balance and brings awareness to the body-mind-spirit utilizing stretching techniques, pressure points and energy balancing.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage: Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapy, is a technique developed in Germany for treatment of lymphedema; an accumulation of fluid that can occur after lymph nodes are removed during surgery.
By encouraging lymph flow and the removal of waste products, this gentle form of bodywork can help restore immune function and improve vitality. So, if you’re feeling a bit sluggish, experiencing mild to moderate swelling, recovering from a sports injury, or interested in optimizing your lymph system for stronger immunity, you owe it to yourself to check into a “Lymphatic Drainage Therapy.
Favorite Massage Modalities: I enjoy doing bodywork and I sometimes like to blend different techniques and customized the treatment to the person’s needs.
Philosophy on Healing: Stress weakens the immune system, opening the door for body inflammation and additional long-term health issues, that is why I believe massage therapy is a highly preventative treatment to achieve optimal health by relaxing and connecting body-mind-spirit.
In the many years practicing massage therapy, I have helped many clients, ranging from cancer patients; before, during and after chemotherapy. Also, those with some kind of soft tissue damage caused by accidents, people with fibromyalgia, and people who need to slow down and relax.
One of my regular clients, after a session, had to attend a work meeting. During these meetings she usually feels very emotional and prefers not to speak out, fearing she will not use the right words to express herself. However, on this occasion she felt so relaxed, and able to tap into a more confident state of mind. She was able to participate, express herself clearly, she felt heard, and respected by her co-workers and boss. This client then sent me a beautiful card thanking me for the massage I had given her, which she felt helped her be in the proper state of mind.
This experience reassures me how massage can help at many different levels and how one massage can touch many others.
