Favorite Massage Modalities: I often create a personalized blend of trigger point therapy and myofascial release with long flowing strokes and stretches.

Philosophy on Healing: Health and healing require balance on the deepest level.  I believe that deep work involves much more than style of work, or amount of pressure applied.  It is important to find the best modality, angle, and/or pressure for the current moment by working with the client in every session.  This may mean that one session, or part of a session, may involve deep pressure and intense soft tissue manipulation, while in another it may be more effective to gently hold space and utilize breathe work to help the body relax and heal through its own self-regulating mechanisms.  Both may be considered deep and effective.

Exceptional Results: Previously, while working in a chiropractor’s office, I had many clients who trained horses that came in because of neck, shoulder and low back problems.  One client, a woman in her late 60’s was on the verge of retiring from showing her horses because of both frozen shoulder and the inability to sit long periods in the bleacher areas.  She previously had 40 years of horsemanship, 2 surgeries and many chiropractic visits.  Through use of trigger point therapy and myofascial release techniques to the rotator cuff, back and deep core muscles she had free range of motion.  She was both relieved and thrilled to be able to continue her passion of showing, and even win best of show.  She required weekly to bi-weekly visits in order to maintain the results.

Musicians are another professional group I have worked with numerous times.  The repetitive motion of playing their instruments, combined with the physical demands of travel and set up can create disharmony in the body. After massage therapy, they express appreciation of better fluidity of movement, and surprisingly to them, their ability to actually hear better with their improved alignment.
