I use my instincts and training to encourage re- integrating these areas back into the whole connectivity of the body.
I see receiving a massage as an act of trust, and to earn that trust I do my best to conduct each massage with transparency and predictability. I believe everyone is in charge of their own relationship with their bodies and timeline for change. For this reason, I see myself as a facilitator rather than a healer, with a role of creating space to listen to your body and respond in the moment together. Ultimately the body knows when it feels safe enough to relax and release dysfunctional tension.

Exceptional Results:

I’m grateful to have played a helping role when clients have offered feedback such as being able to actually relax when they usually can’t, that they feel like they can breathe more freely, or even little details like a partner noticing that their eyes seemed brighter afterwards!
I don’t think what I do is uniquely exceptional, except that each moment we have to tune inward into feeling is always exceptional.

My favorite story so far is from before I trained in massage. My friend had pain along the left side of their neck and was having trouble turning her head. I sat behind her and spent 30 minutes following my instincts while doing a gentle massage. The next day, she reported her pain was gone! Now that I have my formal training and license, I continue to incorporate my instincts while utilizing my knowledge as well.

A really good session isn’t passive on the part of the client – it works best when we believe in the work, allow it in, breathe, and release. I love working with clients who are ready to drop their concepts of healing and see what’s truly possible for them. The slow style of Myofascial Release I practice involves helping the client into a state where their body’s natural healing mechanisms are engaged. In contrast, Hawaiian Lomilomi is so engaging and movement-oriented that it flows and lulls the client into the same place through a different method. Over the years I’ve enjoyed crafting a hybrid of these two different but complementary modalities that is deeply healing and suitable for every body.

I originally studied Psychology, where I developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and trauma. Over time, I became aware that insight alone often doesn’t reach the deeper layers where stress, injury, and protective patterns live in the body.

That awareness led me to massage school in 2014, where a hands-on, body-centered approach felt more aligned with the kind of healing I wanted to support. Since then, I have continued expanding my practice through advanced massage techniques including myofascial work, neuromuscular therapy, Reiki, and Ashiatsu.

I believe the body is an intelligent system that adapts to protect us during overwhelm and injury. Over time, these protective patterns can show up as chronic pain, tension, or restriction. My work is slow, intentional, and intuitive, supporting the body’s natural ability to soften, regulate, and restore ease. I am passionate about holding space for others as they navigate the inner landscape of the body and rediscover freedom from the restriction of chronic pain and symptoms.

This quote by Shakti Gawain sums up the work that I offer – “The body speaks to us clearly and specifically if we are willing to listen.” I am here to help you listen. My intention is not to fix, but to support awareness, regulation, and integration in a non-judgmental space rooted in curiosity and acceptance.

Exceptional Results:

Over the years, I’ve witnessed how the body can soften and release when approached with intentional touch and gentle awareness. One client came to me with long-standing shoulder pain. As I worked slowly and attentively in that area, she began to share a traumatic incident that had not only injured her shoulder physically, but also left emotional residue. As she brought awareness to the experience, her body began to release the chronic protective holding in her shoulder, and she became visibly more at ease. It was a powerful reminder of how physical tension and emotional experience can be deeply intertwined.

In another session, a client receiving myofascial release experienced spontaneous unwinding in his jaw while I was working slowly into the muscles of his left shoulder. It was a meaningful moment for both of us to witness the body naturally let go when met with patience, acceptance, and curiosity.

Neck and upper-body work are particular specialties of mine. I regularly support clients who arrive with limited range of motion and difficulty turning their neck, and many leave with a restored sense of mobility and openness through the neck, shoulders, and upper chest. Clients often describe feeling lighter, more open, and more at ease in their bodies after their sessions.

All modalities have benefits for the body, mind and spirit. My favorite modality is any modality that allows an internal shift in perspective around ‘stuckness’, imbalance, and dis-ease. Even a tiny shift is healing.

Philosophy on Healing:

I believe healing is very personal and comes from within oneself and, yet, we are interdependent beings who need and are influenced by one another. We all need a little help sometimes. Massage and bodywork is a way to deeply connect with oneself through the skilled guidance of a therapist.

My treatment approach blends a deep relaxing flow with therapeutic neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release and trigger point therapy. My therapeutic presence has been described as kind, attentive, communicative, and detailed. Every session is customized to meet your current needs and goals.

I strive to create collaborative and safe healing space by communicating throughout the session. My intention is to ensure that you feel safe and in control so you and your nervous system can relax and receive the work.

“Had a fantastic massage session with Kim. She was kind, a great communicator and listener, attentive. She really focused on the areas that needed attention. I left feeling more relaxed and with less muscle pain! I would highly recommend a session with Kim.”

When you come in for a massage, you realign to a rhythm that restores rather than depletes, that nourishes rather than numbs. You become a listener to the conversation your body is having with you. Relaxation is not a luxury. It is the very foundation upon which you tend to your most important relationship in life, the one you have with yourself.

It’s a blend of my own work mixed with myofascial release, cranial work, light trigger points, connective tissue mobility, and it’s deeply relaxing to the nervous system. Great for relief after motor vehicle accidents.

Favorite Modalities:

I do a unique modality I’ve created. I call it Gentle Therapeutic bodywork. It’s a different approach to massage. I use a series of holds and light trigger points to help loosen muscles at attachment points and stuck areas. It creates a feeling of space and greater mobility in areas you feel bound up. My focus is freeing up trapped nerves and connective tissue to help you get out of pain and have better range of motion.

Philosophy on Healing:

My goal is to meet you where you’re at without judgement. I don’t expect one session to undo a lifetime of aches, injury, and pain. It can however be a wonderful step to reducing the impact and improving your quality of life. Your body is capable of healing itself. You are the one doing the work. I’m just here to facilitate by showing your body where it’s holding the tension. I don’t believe in the idea of “No pain, no gain”. I have created techniques that make it so I don’t need to dig in deep causing pain and inflammation that ends up crushes nerves.

My touch is medium to light, but the impact is deep and ongoing. So my philosophy is that it doesn’t have to hurt to help.

Exceptional Results:

I have a client that could no longer cut up their own food or lift a tray from the oven. They dropped things, and couldn’t open jars.

They had gone to many places looking for help, but often ended up bruised and unable to work from the treatments. This client has multiple health issues including fibromyalgia. So deep work was just too painful and caused bad flare ups.

We made a plan and I discovered they had a number of adhesions and trigger points in their hands, forearms, shoulders, and chest that were impinging on nerves.

Through our work together and occasional maintenance massages, the problem is resolved.

He was preparing for surgery, and decided to try massage therapy as a last resort. After one session, his pain was reduced enough that he decided to hold off on the surgery. After eight biweekly sessions, he postponed the surgery indefinitely and was able to maintain his shoulder health with monthly massage.

Another client came to me with an achy spot under his shoulder blade that had been agitating him for almost two years. At the end of the session he said he felt little difference in the spot. I told him to give it some time, that he would probably feel some difference over next several days, and it would likely take multiple sessions to fully address an issue that had been ongoing for such a length of time. I saw him a week later. He told me that several hours after our session he reached out to grab something, heard a loud pop in his shoulder, and the pain was instantly and dramatically reduced. With ongoing sessions the pain completely resolved.

Every individual’s experience and needs are their own when it comes to wellbeing, for we are all different people! In our world we push our bodies to do incredible things day after day. These everyday activities start to wear our physical and mental bodies down. Without some care and love our bodies start to breakdown, making the healing and day to day hard at times.

My job as your reiki healer/massage therapist, is to meet YOU where you are, every session, while providing a safe, accessible, and comfortable space for you to release and make it all a little easier!! With the training, knowledge, practices, many modalities, and experience over the years, I have a gained a wealth of information to pull from to help me give intuitive, quality and beneficial care both in my session room and for you to use for yourself outside of it!

Communication, trust and respect are an important part of the safe environment and therapeutic relationship I wish to create with all who I work with.

Body and Energy work with someone who cares and is knowledgeable, can not only make the healing journey easier and KEEP it easy with routine care, it keeps our physical and mental moving. Because your body deserves it!!!

Exceptional Results:

One patient in particular comes to mind when I think of positive results from just one session alone. They came into the office with and incredibly awful and painful looking limp. They had a muscle strain after falling off a horse and they needed healing quickly to be able to ride and take care of their horses. We discussed treatment options and created a care plan for the session based on their needs, and their pain areas. With cupping, DT, gua sha, patience and communication, they were able to leave my session room walking normally! And after some follow up treatments, they were back on the horse (literally!) and enjoying their day to day without pain.
Another patient came to me after a very stressful and intense workday, teary eyed and upset. Upon seeing them and noticing a difference right away, we went to straight to the session room and allowed for open space to decide what treatment would look like for the session! Reiki was decided upon to start, helping welcome in a calm and light energy, encourage a release, and relax the physical and mental body. After they felt more at ease and comfortable, we were able to do some more detailed massage work, relieving tension brought on from the day. Post session they walked away with a whole new energy then when they had come in. The next time I saw them, they shared that the felt immense peace and ease with the situations of that previous session day and were able to navigate how to move forward with a more level and compassionate view.

Success is such a relative term, and all success and improvements should be recognized and appreciated… you did that!!! However, most people do come in with a particular goal or time frame that they are trying to achieve or heal by. To watch people, I work with complete and go beyond these desires is an incredibly rewarding and enlightening experience, for the both of us, no matter the achievement.

Massage offers a powerful and deeply restorative experience, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to participate in your healing. As a practitioner I seek to support your innate connection to health on every level. Everything in our lives is connected, which gives us many possibilities to create healing. It’s often easier than we think when we find the right angle of approach, changing our ideas about who we are and what is possible.

I listen to a person’s body and ask what I can do in that moment to create the best therapeutic effect. I feel reverence and wonder as I work with the living body. This being present with the body is, in itself, often very productive.

I worked with a client across a few months who had a shoulder joint replacement. He kept coming back week after week, sharing his joy about the increasing mobility in the joint as I repeatedly massaged the scar tissue, tendons, and muscles of that area. He stayed active and gradually increased the demands on his body. We were both impressed by the power of regular, directed massage to alleviate discomfort and reduced mobility that he was experiencing in the wake of his surgery.

One of my regular clients has shared with me that she keeps coming back because the massages I give her do not feel like a routine. She finds that I treat each visit as an opportunity to meet her where she is at and help her move towards where she wants to be. Her job is demanding of her body and she finds massage essential for her quality of life, and it’s important to her that it does not become too ordinary, too routine.

I’ve had clients who came to me for hand and forearm massages, and later shared with me that my work made the difference between being able to work the next day or having to stay home and rest. Seeing these rapid recoveries has helped me to develop rational optimism and to be confident in doing my best.
